Quick Update: Night In Bangkok

by | Jun 26, 2010 | Summer 2010: Southeast Asia & India, Thailand | 0 comments

So- it’s after 3am and I’m pretty exhausted. I’m going to wait until tomorrow morning to give a full run-down with videos of today’s activities, but I just wanted to let you know that we successfully had a full night in Bangkok.

We started at the Mandarin Hotel – where Joseph Conrad did his writing back in the day. We then proceeded to “Distill” a rooftop bar with beautiful views of the river and live jazz. We passed through a second rooftop bar, “The Moon Bar: Vertigo,” where we were disappointed with the views. Next, we went on a mad hunt for a club that did not blatantly advertise hookers or sex shows and ended up at “Q Bar” where we still ran into plenty of hookers with their caucasian male friends. After a good amount of time dancing, we finished off at this Middle-Eastern restaurant and hookah bar to rehydrate and relax. We’re in the taxi home and I am currently the only one who is awake – Calvin and Caitlin are both asleep.

Goodnight, Bangkok
