« « SOUTH KOREA: Day 2
Calcutta: Street Life, Mother Teresa, Bridges, & Thunderstorms » »

I’ve only been here for 24 hours, and I’m already hanging out with Steffi (my new German friend I had met yesterday at the airport), Tanmay (a mutual friend of Vaibhav who found me wandering in the streets of Calcutta), and a few of Tanmay’s local friends in a converted home that they call “the Tin Can” lair, chilling out and listening to great music.

They’re all actors, some of them in Western films and some in Bollywood and Hindi commercials, and they’ve lived here all their lives.

We just sped down the streets of Calcutta, blasting daft punk before munching on some Punjab Chinese food with the best sweet lassi I’ve ever had.

India…you’re not here to visit things, you’re here to experience it.
