Starting Off With Some “Good Luck”

by | Dec 22, 2011 | Fail, Lessons Learned, Pre-travel Preparations | 1 comment

Currently at the airport and we’ve already had our first mini crisis. The other Calvin had his father buy his ticket for him a few months ago. Unfortunately, however, TAP Portugal airlines requires that in order for check-in, his father had to be present to produce the credit card that was used to buy the ticket. Because his father is in China, there was a moment where we thought he wouldn’t be allowed on the flight. Whoops!

In the end we had him buy the ticket on his own card and getting his father’s card reimbursed. Lesson #1.

Then, a few moments later, security threw out Go’s fancy Frederick Fekkai shampoo because they were over the 3oz. liquid limit. What a waste. Lesson #2.

I’ll leave the rest for her to blog about, but so far I only see this as signs that our trip will go smoothly. They must be good omens, right?

And our flight takes off. See you on the other side of the world.

I’m missing this moment already.
