How do I pack for 4 days of this….

With this?

I start with my clothes — 3 short sleeved synthetic (quick drying) shirts, 2 long sleeved synthetic shirts, 3 cotton shirts, 2 cargo pants, 5 underwears, 5 smart wool socks, 2 heavy smart wool socks, 2 dress socks, 1 thermal underpants, 1 thermal baselayer, 1 pair of swimsuits, 1 skullcup, and 1 balaclava…

…combined into 1 Eagle Creek packing cube:

Dress clothes — 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants, 1 dress shirt…

…into one Eagle Creek packing folder:

Electronics — 1 netbook, 1 netbook charger, 2 pairs of speakers, 3 electrical adaptors, 1 camera-to-iPad cable, 1 Nikon camera charger, 1 iPad charger, 1 iPhone charger…

…combined into one little baggy:

Toiletries — 1 pack of shower wipes, tooth floss, toothpaste, hair gel, hairclay, toothbrush, shaving gel, 2 razors, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, and 1 bodywash:

…combined into one toiletries bag:

Medicine bag — DEET, sunblock, alcohol wipes, bacitracin, bugbite relief cream, chapstick, breath freshener, fungal cream, nail clippers, deoderant, kiehl’s moisturizer, ibuprofen, acetominophen, bandaids, doxycycline, meclizine, canker sore gel, 1% hydrocortisone, single use towel wipes, sore throat lozenges, benadryl, and immodium…

…into one medicine bag:

The go-bag — iPad, telephoto lens, medicine bag, 1 pair of sunglasses, 2 screen towels, 1 camera screen polisher, 1 camera rain shield, guidebook, hand warmers, toe warners, Purell, and 1 inflatable neck pillow:

…in one standard backpack:

And finally the conclusion — Packing cube full of clothes, bag of electronics and chargers, 1 packing folder, 1 toiletries bag, 2 dress shoes, extra hand and toe warmers, 1 cocoon travel sheet, security cage and locks, 3 travel guides, camera sensor cleaners, 1 pair of ski gloves, 1 scarf, 1 extra pair of heavy wool socks:

…into 1 backpack, which sits snugly next to my go-bag:

And there you have it. All packed up 4 hours before departure. 🙂

See you on the other side, ladies and gentlemen! I’m heading south!
